Definition of Future Tense: Future tense indicates actions that is not yet happened/occurred or which would happen in future.
Future Tense types/forms: Future is tense is categorized in 4 types/forms
- Simple Future
- Future Continuous
- Future Perfect
- Future Perfect Continuous
Simple Future (Subject + will/shall + base form of verb)
Definition of simple future?
The simple future tense expresses actions that will happen.
Example of simple future:
I will go to market
He will dance today
You will write a letter
I shall go to market today
They will watch movie today
Note: we use shall when we are not sure about the action that is going to happen or not.
Future Progressive (sub + will be/shall/be + Verb(ing)
What does future progressive mean?
Future progressive states actions that will be continuous, which will be going on or which will be in progress in future.Example of future progressive:
I will be going to market
I shall be going to market
He will be dancing today afternoon
You will be writing a letter
They will be watching movie in the evening today
Future Perfect (Sub + will have/shall have + past participle of Verb)
What is future perfect tense all about?
Future perfect tense states actions that would have happened in the future and it is completed.
Examples of future perfect:
I will have gone to market at 4 pm today
I shall have gone to market at 4 pm today
He will have danced by this time tomorrow
You will have written a letter by 4 pm
Future Perfect Continuous (sub +will have been/shall have been + verb(ing)
What is future perfect continuous all about?
Future perfect progressive tense states the action which is ongoing, continuous and that will be completed in future at a specific time.
Examples of future perfect continuous:
I will have been going to market
You will have been dancing tomorrow by this time
He will have been writing exam tomorrow at 6 am
They will have been watching movie for 2 hour tomorrow
